2014 Club Championships - Sun 14 Sept

 7 September 2014

The final event of the summer track & field season is our Club Championships, which will be held at Craigswood on Sunday 14 September.

Entry Form

This year we will also be hosting athletes from Falkirk Victoria Harriers, as their track at Grangemouth Stadium is closed for refurbishment. This will no doubt result in a fantastic competition!

A timetable and full details about the event are in the flyer at the bottom of the page. There is also information below to explain more about the Club Championships to new members.

All athletes who attend training on Monday and Wednesday nights are expected to take part in this competition and, for any new members, this event will be a perfect introduction to athletics!

ENTRIES
Entries must be made in advance using the online entry form. There are no entries on the day. For club members the entry fee is £6 per athlete and for guests the entry fee is £4 for the first event and £3 per event for additional events.

The closing date for all entries is midnight on Sunday 7th September.

EVENTS
The flyer lists the events available for each age category. U9-U15 athletes can enter up to 3 individual events and U17-SEN athletes can enter up to 4 individual events.

Athletes choose their own events when entering and need to enter a mixture of track & field events. You can't do all track or all field! If you're doing an event for the first time, just leave the PB/SB section of the form empty.

UNDER 9'S
Athletes aged 7 and 8 can compete too and can choose 3 events from a 60m sprint, 600m run, standing long jump or shot putt. It's open to all, family or friends, with a medal for every competitor. Enter via the online entry form.

MEDLEY RELAY
Livingston members can enter the Medley Relay, the final event of the day, which consists of mixed age/gender teams of 5 athletes running a 400m, 300m, 2x200m and 100m, with a £20 gift voucher for each member of the winning team.

For those who entered the relay, teams will be picked at random on Wednesday 10th September, at the end of the training session.

PRIZES
Club Championship medals will be presented on the day for 1st/2nd/3rd place in each event for each age group (U11+). All U9 athletes receive a medal.

Livingston Club Championship trophies will be presented at a later date to the overall 1st/2nd/3rd placed athlete in each age group for which eligibility is:

■ You must be a fully paid up member of Livingston & District AAC and have represented the club at least twice this season.

■ U11, U13 and U15 athletes must compete in 3 individual events, which should be a mixture of track & field events.

■ U17 and Senior athletes must compete in 4 individual events, which should be a mixture of track & field events.

■ The trophy winners will be decided using the UKA Award scoring tables (available below), with the winners in each age group having the highest points total. Every millisecond and every centimetre counts!

BOTTLE TOMBOLA
We're also looking for donations of bottles for a tombola stall. So if you have anything from a bottle of shampoo to a bottle of champagne that you would like to offer, please bring it along and hand to Debbie or Julia in the pavilion. We're grateful of all donations no matter how big or small.

VOLUNTEERS
It takes a lot of volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the event. We usually require a large team of parent helpers to help officiate the field events and relay changeovers (no experience necessary). If you are available to help, please let Robyn know. If enough people help then everyone only needs to help for an hour or so on the day.
