UKA Academy Awards

 11 June 2015

The club launched the UKA Academy Awards programme last night with U11-U15 athletes receiving certificates for performances during April and May.

The Academy Awards will recognise performances in most of the main athletics events, with athletes having six target steps to reach in each event.

Athletes will receive a certificate every time a personal best performance takes them to a new step.

Academy Awards are used to reward personal development in athletics and cater for children of all abilities, helping develop individual athletics skills by setting realistic targets.

Age Groups: U11, U13 and U15

Events: 100m, 200m, 800m, 1500m, Sprint Hurdles, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Shot Putt, Javelin and Discus

Steps: Step 1, Step 2, Step 3, Bronze, Silver and Gold

More details about the UKA Academy Awards programme are available in the poster below, which also includes the target performances for each step for each event. The poster will also be on display in the pavilion shortly.
