Matthew Power touched down in Brisbane, Austrialia, last week to represent Great Britain in the Virtus Sport World Athletics Championships!
In the 100m heats, Matthew ran 11.65, finishing 3rd in his heat to qualify for the final. In the final on Sunday morning, he improved to 11.57w to finish 7th overall.
Matthew was also back on the track for the 200m, running 23.80 to finish 6th in his heat, narrowly missing out on a place in the final.
That brought his championship campaign to a close after two excellent performances, gaining valuable international experience and representing Great Britain with pride.
With over 200 athletes from 30 countries taking part, the Virtus Championships are a major international event for athletes with an intellectual impairment, providing valuable competition experience and recognition.
