Scottish Athletics Volunteer of the Year 2015

 15 November 2015

After another successful season, the club were shortlisted for "Impact Club of the Year" at the recent Scottish Athletics Annual Awards.

While the club narrowly missed out against tough opposition, everyone involved with the club should be proud of their efforts over the last 12 months.

However, the club didn't leave the awards night empty-handed as I was honoured receive the Scottish Athletics "Volunteer of the Year" award!

Firstly, thank you to those at the club who nominated me.

As an athlete it's easy to take for granted the amount of time that the coaches, officials and other volunteers invest for the benefit of the athletes, the club and the sport - so it's been incredibly rewarding to "give something back" and see the club and it's athletes continuously progress and develop over a number of years.

In the programme for the Annual Awards night, Scottish Athletics referred to the "resurgence of Livingston AC" and for this we're lucky to have a strong and supportive group of volunteers at Livingston, all equally committed to building a progressive club at the heart of the community.

But finally, for the great work at the club to continue, we do always need more people to come forward and help whenever you can. Whether you can spare a couple of hours a week or just a few hours a year, your contribution will make a difference.
